Time to think


Some children benefit from being removed from their social environment for a short time to reflect on
their behaviour or think about what they have done. From the age of three to ten, boys in particular fit
this category. Boys are built for reflexive action and an opportunity to reflect on their behaviour is something many of them need. I am not referring to deep and meaningful insights, just the chance to think about their less desirable behaviour and how they may behave better when they return to the social world. So when their eyes are spinning, their behaviour appalling or they just refuse to cooperate some time in the thinking spot is just what is required.
